Sara

I started working with Jemma in November 2020, after a period of the worst injury I’ve ever picked up. I had been trying (and failing!) to get back into running, lacking motivation and having no idea where to start, nervous to push myself and worried about relapsing, my fitness had dropped pretty dramatically.

I’ve followed Jemma on Instagram for years and I always enjoyed how relatable her stories and posts were, after responding to one of her stories Jemma asked me to have a look at her new website that she was due to launch and I started to think coaching would be the thing to get me back on track, then a few weeks later when she posted that she was officially ‘open for business’ I jumped straight onto her site and put in an enquiry and, let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in YEARS. An hour later, Jemma and I were on a Facetime call talking about every possible topic you can imagine. Jemma has the ability to excite someone about any subject but discussing running and setting goals is where our conversations really come alive! We set some initial goals and then got to work on smashing them.

Jemma is everything I could have hoped for in a coach, she understands that life is difficult (especially in a global pandemic!) and that not every run goes to plan. She’s there to reassure me when I’m feeling uneasy and to give me a little kick up the bum when I need it.

I’m 16 weeks into my training and I’m confidently hitting paces and distances that I didn’t even think were possible before I got injured! I have come back from an injury that left me unable to walk to setting out every Sunday for my long run with a smile on my face. I haven’t missed a single day of the plan since we started and I owe that all to Jemma. Bring on those new PBs!
