From the first phone call with Jemma, I knew I had made the right choice to get in touch and try to get my running and enjoyment for running back on track. Having got into running as part of a personal challenge to complete 12 challenges in 12 months in 2018 I found once the challenge had been completed that my running lacked direction and the enjoyment waned and my performance suffered as a result.


For me training was never about getting ready for the Olympics or running a sub 3-hour marathon but about having fun and keeping fit. Since working with Jemma the fun is back! A training plan that mixes long runs, interval sessions, time trials and strength sessions means no one session is the same and Jemma has a unique ability of knowing when I need an encouraging word or a kick up the backside!

The things that are important to you are important to Jemma, good session, bad session or the I didn’t quite make it session Jemma finds that small positive that I couldn’t see for myself and after every bi-weekly catch up, I’m ready to go again motivated for the 2 weeks ahead.


With the return of my enjoyment there has been a coinciding return to form, my pace and fitness is constantly improving and without Jemma’s help I’m pretty sure I’d have been well on my way from 5km to couch! No matter what level of experience you are as a runner there really is a coach out there for you and her name is Jemma with a J.
